Tangerine and Nanao step onto the platform to satisfy Minegishi’s men. Tangerine presents a false suitcase and Nanao plays the role of Minegishi’s son, but the case opens and reveals the deception.
The station briefly appears to offer a way off the train, then becomes another checkpoint that tightens the conflict. Minegishi’s people now have more reason to pursue the passengers north.

Nanao intends to leave at Ichinoseki, but he drops his phone between luggage and cannot retrieve it before the doors close. He accepts the missed exit as another familiar setback.
